Hello all.

So hubs asked to go into inpatient rehab. I'm so proud of him that he admitted finally that he needs help. I am taking him tomorrow into a program here near where we live that's a minimum of 30-60 days and maybe even looking into longer term care, like transitional care into sober living, after. Then he is going to move into my parents house with us eventually. My parents approved of it. He may be gone from us for as long as a year with everything but I'd rather be apart due to this than because he was still drinking. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

I really wish you all the very best, and that all goes well for your husband. How brave of him and you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you all!

So I took him today and he was very sick. Vomiting, shaking. They have to do a medical exam prior to being admitted there, and when they did they said they would feel better taking him by ambulance to the ER to be checked, possibly even detoxing there for awhile. So I got very nervous!

Once the ambulance got there they brought him out and he walked out on his own thank God! The paramedic said he thought he was just dehydrated from the vomiting, everything else was ok. So we went to the ER and they checked him over very well. They gave him meds for the shaking and for the nausea, an iv of fluids, and also checked his liver and pancreas. Everything was fine!!! His liver was a little inflamed but nothing to be concerned about.

I'm glad now it happened this way. Now I KNOW he doesn't have any bad liver damage. I took him back and dropped him off, and he's in very good spirits and ready to get started now. I can't see him for the first week though. I can't call him and talk to him but he may be able to call me and I can call and leave messages for him. I'm so proud of him!

That's really good news! It's a tough situation, but at least things are moving forward now. It's great to hear that his liver and pancreas are fine too! When my mum went to detox, she was very ill from the detoxing effects too. They even had to keep her monitored and on some meds to control everything for a few days. The good news is he'll feel a lot better soon enough though.

Thanks all....because I can't see him for the first week that means I'll have to wait until NEXT weekend to go visit him. I'm so sad right now. Im trying to hold it together but it's so hard. I just want to know he's ok.
