vaccinations

My 4 month old received her last vaccination yesterday. The Vet gave her 5 in 1 distemper, her second lime, and a rabies shot. She is miserable, she is running a fever, and the area where the shot was given is swelled. The question is, is this normal? This is going into the second day, should I alert the Vet. And if this wasn't enough she is also loosing her teeth, which I know is normal. Any advice, please help. :?

Call your vet and describe what is going on.
They might be able to give her something to make her more comfortable or tell you something you can give her.

Calling them won't cost anything.
what? THEY GAVE THE RABIES AND THE 5 SERIES TOGETHER?????????
get a new vet you should never do that its too much on their system....
you should really not give the chi lepto they have reactions to that and it is rare to get.....is their an L in the shot series abbreviations?

I am sure your baby will be ok but call the vet :(

OMG I am a vet tech and I would suggest that you find another VET ASAP. Victoria is right, they should be given on different occasions!
Give your baby a half of baby aspirin.

TO EVERYONE PLEASE BE INFORMED!

AND YES NEVER EVER GIVE A CHIHUAHUA A SHOT THAT HAS LEPTOVIRUS IN IT IT CAN KILL YOUR DOG!!!! I LEARNED THE HARD WAY!
Find another Vet ASAP!! That was way to much to give her at one time!! She sounds as if she is suffering from "vaccinosis". It is when there system becomes toxic from over vaccination. A good Vet who understands small breeds will only give one shot at a time---never together! The Lime Vac can be very dangerous to small breeds. My friend who has a tiny Yorkie almost died from a Lime Vac. Some of these ____#$$$ Vets just get way to over zealous with their Vaccinations!!! Keep us posted on her conditon.

I would definitely put a call in to the vet. I hope your sweet furbaby recovers from this reaction soon. Let us know how she's doing.
I am also a vet tech and what KJ and Vic said is true!
I would take your chi to another vet asap! I would not return to that other vet! That is just too much to put into such a small body at once. A half a baby asprin should bring down the swelling and help with the fever. Still, I would suggest taking your pup to a vet!

Please update us as soon as you can!

I hope your baby is back to normal soon. That does seem like a lot for a little chi to handle
Thank you everyone for your input. I had no idea, and that certain vaccinations could prove fatal. This is my first puppy and I researched and was told these were the vaccinations all puppies should receive. I am putting a call in to her vet for now and looking for a new vet. Any recommendations I am from NYC.
Sorry to hear about your little furbaby...I hope she recovers fast from this ordeal... :)
