So Holly has become a bit naughty and not wanting to come when called she will not run just rolls over if I go get her but I figured out her currency as I like to call it the word treat is all it takes to get that girl flying in. Zoe will come in when called without the word but she also responds more quickly to the word.
And yes my yard needs some TLC lol..

Lol, that's too cute. I have to do the same with my Mom's dogs, but even then, sometimes they won't come. I want to teach Gemma the word treat, but she doesn't really give a crap about any treats I try to give her, lol. Makes her training a little more difficult.

Yeah both my Chi's are food motivated to doing things.I have to take one treat and for each per day and make it into smaller pieces if not they would end up with a diet of treats lol.. Holly was not treat motivated when she was younger though.

My dogs are very treat oriented only to them the word is Cookie as soon as I say want a cookie they come running. I buy the little tiny mini multi flavored milk bones for them that way they still get a cookie but it doesn't ruin their appitite for their regular food.

Oh sorry to get all the pups in a treat mode. I just really never had a dog that the word would work on to come to me. LS front yard is really small compared to the back we have a little over 1 1/2 acre lot here. Some woods in back but cleared out path area to a little creek. I would love to fence the back in but it is not in our budget to do that yet.

Haha, it's ok I made them sit and gave them a little liver treat.
As for your fence idea, it`s great, and I`m sure if you want it enough
you`ll make it happen, it time. For now you can dream about a fence
and I can dream about your yard! haha.
