I know that Bailey didn't come from a great breeder, and we won't be going back to them when we get another Chi.

The breeder's were young, early 20's. They didn't let us in the house (but we could see it was on the dirty side), Bailey was brought out to us on the porch. We did meet his mom, who was already pregnant again, Bailey and his siblings were supposedly 5 weeks (they say, but we think they were younger) at that time! They had said his siblings were taken at 4 weeks.... WAY TOO EARLY to be away from their mom, which we later found out from the vet that Bailey was too young at that time too. :(

He was stinky all over and had lots of crud in his ears, they had him on cheap crappy food and his breath stank!!! We decided even though they wanted $200 for him, it was better that we take him home and try to give him a decent life!

We have no idea what his dad looks like, anything about their temperaments etc. We didn't do a lot of research about breeders etc before we got Bailey. I know so much more now, thanks to this site, so we are better prepared for our next addition. I don't regret bringing Bailey home, we really believe we saved him. I worry and wonder about his siblings.... *sighs*. :(

I am 100% POSITIVE they were only breeding for money. Especially since the mom wasn't even supposed to be done weaning her first litter, let alone already pregnant with her next!!!

Now however, Bailey is healthy, happy, clean, adjusting well and a total pleasure to have in our home (when he isn't having potty issues lol). He is spoiled rotten and very well loved! :D

I wish I could find out how is siblings are, if they are even alive. Its sickening! :foxes15:
