Bella and Lina eat Wellness Core Original Formula dry kibbles and (canned Wellness Core dog food as treats) for the last 5 years, and are doing great on this food. The kibbles of the Core Original Formula are rather large for my girls' small mouths, so we soften the kibbles in water to make it easier for the girls to eat them.

Wellness recently came our with Wellness Core Small Breed Formula dry kibble that has smaller kibbles. Has any one tried this new Core Small Breed Formula for their chis? I'm thinking about switching to this for Bella and Lina.

Im transitioning both of my chi's to it. And i tell you, size comparision to other small breed foods such as blue, wellness core sm breed has very tiny kibbles! My chi's are doing fine with it so far and they seem to like it a lot too. You should try diff kinds of kibbles with diff meat meals, if they eat perhaps a chicken meal kibble for a very long time, they can develop allergic reaction to chicken meal based kibbles but yes i think wellness core sm breed is a good food, other wellness core kibbles are good too, i kno a lot of people here feed it to their chi's too. It is totally up to you. ;) One more thing, i also like the sm breed core version more because it contains glucosamine and chondroitin. Here is the ingredients:

Made with quality animal protein, along with a blend of botanicals and nutritional supplements, this Wellness CORE Small Breed Dog Food is formulated to keep your small dog healthy and happy. The dog food is rich in omegas to promote a healthy skin and coat, while glucosamine and chondroitin help support healthy joints. The grain- and gluten-free food is made with spearmint to ensure fresh breath.

I have been feeding CORE whitefish kibble to our 23 lb. ACD/BC mix for 2.5 years now. She is an athletic active dog and she stays slim with good muscling and a shiny coat.
It is far too high in calories for 8.8# Pico so I've been feeding him CORE reduced fat kibble with good results. The caloric content of the CORE small breed is between them. I have a bag and the pieces are tiny. I absolutely love wellness foods. If you sign up on their website, you can get coupons fairly pften by email.
