I THINK he's a sable. But i'm not sure. The breeder said he should end up cream like his dad.

I'm not a dog expert, but I couldn't see all that dark fur turning into "cream." From prior experience with dogs, their fur only darkens, but who knows. He sure is a cutie though!

From what I have seen on this forum, lots of sables turned cream! Crazy.

He is PRECIOUS!! What a face and his coloring is beautiful!

Hope is a cream and she was nearly white when we got her. Her back has gotten more cream as she grew from a puppy. I cannot imagine him ever becoming cream, although his sabling can fade.

Depending on what you can see (because resolution and color on all our monitors can be different) he is either cream with black sabling or fawn with black sabling.

He is a little sweetheart!!

His coloring looks similar to our Jaxx except he has a lot more of the black sablin on his back than Jaxx does. Jaxx's papers list him as tan with black sabling.

He is adorable. He makes me wish we had gotten Jaxx at that age.

He is fawn with black sabling....I have a sable too. Rico is a tri...he definitely "lightened" as he grew up...

I'm also no expert but my breeder told me that cats darken with age and dogs lighten.
Bandit was really dark when we got him now he has grown out a lot lighter/blonder.

In German we call this colour "wild" - not sure if that exists in American color charts, but your sweetie is a perfect example for a "wild" colored chi.

Sure. He will lighten. Flippedstars little one, Leah, is a picture perfect example of one with dark sabling softening to an absolutely gorgeous color. She chronicled the transformation in a thread here somewhere. She is a show dog and a Champion.

It is VERY unlikely that he would EVER look cream like his sire with all the dark sabling.

I love sabling and black masking, myself!!
