After lots of thoughts and talking to my boyfriend / mum / etc
I'm kinda having second thoughts weather or not the time is right for me to get another puppy or not

I've gotta see my specialist (re my thyroid disease ) next week and
I know sometime in the future I will have to have another operation :(

Now I know a puppy would make me SO happy but i've got so many other things/questions floating around in my head  like will fizzy be ok , will he still be my best boy ? also my boy seems to know when i'm not well and never messes about when i need him to be calm ... ( I'm not ill ALL the time , it comes and goes )

Dificult isn't it ! my boy also just fits in he is fine with everywhere we go , never nervous and never causes a problem .. ( and I take him everywhere with me ) could that change .

I know all the answers to the thoughts in my head are in my head too just wish i could find them .........

I know exactly what you're going through. I want a puppy sooooo bad but I have all the same questions and concerns.

Will OmaKitty accept ANOTHER puppy? Will Cooper?

Then there's the monetary cost of having a puppy, which is what stops me from getting one. I just can't afford it. If I could, I would have tons more of questions and concerns and wants and everything.

My advice ... if you keep having concerns about everything else going on in your life, don't do it. It wouldn't be fair to the new puppy.

I wish you all the best with EVERYTHING. You've got a lot going on right now and it's not fair because you're one groovy chick with one groovy pup and both of you are too wonderful to have anything bad happen to you!!!

Its so hard when you just cant borrow a puppy and see how things go~ :(
I say you put it to the back of your mind right now as you dont wanna get all stressed or upset with that and wait until you heard from your doctor, and then start making a decision  Whatever your decision Sara we all know that you have yourself Fizzy and the puppy in your best interest!

The way i see it is if you have the slightest inclination that you should or shouldnt do something, then you have to go with it. When it is time you will know it and then you will find your Dorothy! Concentrate on yourself right now. Your the one that need YOU most!

Sara, only you can be the judge of what is right for you at this particular time. I can truly relate to your feelings though. I have thought of getting another chi a couple of times, but keep backing out. I too have concerns similar to yours.

Do what you feel is best for you right now. Whatever you decide, I'm sure it will be the right decision for you, Fizzy and all concerned.

Thank you so much , it's been a long day off thinking !

I've just spoken to my mum who looks after fizzy when i can't take him to work or if I have to go somewhere , she agrees that it's just not the right time etc for me to get another puppy & she also thinks fizzy is so perfect for me , she said fizzy & me are a good match a 'real team' ( bless her )

Big thanks to everyone for taking the time to read my posts and help me out ... Sara xx

hi sera, ive been thinking the same thing lately, and theres no doubt about it chi's are much happier with another chi around. maybe now isnt the best time for you but i wouldnt dismiss the idea alltogether. we had our chi pip for 5 or 6 years before we got lattie. for the first few days he tried to kill her! but soon enough he fell in love with her. when she died of epilepsy 6 years later he aged very qyickly. dogs like to have dog companions no matter how much they love you.we'll get a mate for lillo sometime just deciding when the time is right is important. we took him yesterday to visit the breeders and watching him go mad crying and licking to death his sister made me decide we must get another soon.

Thanks so much Rachael , you know what I think your really special too ,
your little lily really remind me of the dog I had before Fizzy , my Jack Russell
'Kara' who I lost when she was 15 bless her :( she was a puppy farm badly treated dog
and your wonderful lily sounds so much like her .....

Angela , thanks for your post too :)
I know Fizzy ( and most other dogs love company ) when I bring my fizzy to work with me
( like I have done today ) he gets to be with my brothers dog( and as we are a pet shop
loads of other dogs & people come in to see him :) ) , when I don't bring him with
me to work he goes to my mums where he spends the time with her 2 dogs ( a poodle and a Boarder terrier ) so he does get friends that way too :):) we have also just made friends with a bunch
of nice people who walk in a little local park too ,and fizzy is just beginning to want to play with them too :)

And his little ' Lola friend ' is coming to see him again soon :)

So maybe in a way I'm being selfish not letting him have a live in friend , because when I'm not
feeling well ( my illness often makes me feel rather down ) i want him all to myself . The way he just
looks at me makes my heart melt and always makes me feel better ........

But like you say , you never know what the future holds and life changes all the time so maybe sometime in the future I'll get another chi but for now , I've got my fizzy and that's all I need "My life , My love , My Fizzy Dave "

Sara xxx
