Does anyone here like going to casinos? If so, are you able to control yourself?

I loooove going to casinos and I cannot control myself  There's one about 30 minutes away from where I live and I go there, so does my mom, dad, aunt, uncle, and joe and his b/f as well.

I even remember back in April when we went to Texas to visit my mom's side of the family, there were NO casinos that payed CASH! It was horrible. Then we had found out about a casino in a town named Hobbs but it was in New Mexico. So WHAT did me, my mom, joe, and rene do on our way home...we went out of our way to go to Hobbs. We found it and i couldn't go in cause first of all...no one under 21 was allowed and ID was needed.

So, I stayed out in the car with Britney..they didn't take too long though. Anywho, we went about our way and were sooooo thrilled to be back in California cause we had been back in Cali less than a couple areas and were passing near a place where there were TWO casinos. So, we stopped and stayed there for a few hours.

Anywho, my parents and I went to two on sunday. the first one, i got $20 from my dad and in the end, ended up with $150 from about 2-3 different machines total. I gave my dad his $20 back and gave my mom $60. Had $70 to myself and ended up spending it back into the slots.

THAN, I had found out we were gonna go to our "usual" one. and towards the end when we were gonna leave, I slipped my last $20 that my dad gave me into a $1 machine and bet one credit and won an extra $60. So, I came home with $79! :D

I'm glad we left a few minutes after that cause i think they wanna go back on wednesday!

I go every now and then w/ my mom and my step dad. My husband does not like to gamble. He would rather go play in the big gane room at the casino lol,
When I go I only leave the house w/ like 20 - 30 dollars. I would get mad at my self if I spent any more than that.
My mom and I like to play on the penny and nickle machines. They have all the little animated machines. They're fun. :)

It's illegal here in North Carolina :x
I only went to one casino in Las Vegas when I went to get married, but I played the slots and finished up with a whopping $5.00. ALMOST enough to pay for a bottle of water at the hotel, water was $7.00

Anyway, we stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel, and when my kids are older I'd love to go back.

When I lived in Massachusetts I was a scratch ticket fiend. I LOVE them! One time, the week before Christmas I spent my last $5 on a ticket and won $1000, I cried because I was so happy to be able to get my son nicer Christmas presents. (We were pretty broke back then.)

Wow for someone so young it does definately sound like you go a little too often - is there not a age limit to casinos ?

Age limit depends on the state and some check ID's carefully and some don't.

Personally I'm not much of a gambler, we have 2 casino's locally and I've never been in either one of them. I do play a bit if we go to Vegas or to the race track but $20.00 is the max I take. For me it's just an occasional entertainment. I've seen too many people who had real gambling problems that ruined their lives eventually.

I am not a gambler, I am way too tight with my money to spend it on something intangible. I'd take a pair of shoes over a slot machine any day!

...Although maybe if I had better luck, I'd like gambling more! LOL

:!: :!: :!: I'm 17 :!: :!: :!:

So yes, I am a tiny bit too young....but I've been going to the same casino for about a year already. The thing about this casino is that they don't require ID and people take little kids...they just can't go down the three steps that divide you from the "official" area where the slot machines are.

I remember the Good days when I would be sooo upset because my parents were always leaving and I'd never be interested. I even remember several times where I would go and I LOVED going to the gift shop and spending my money on the fake diamond rings...and I dunno what happened. One day I walked into the area with my brother/mother and I played and I would play and start winning a little here and there...and now, the closest I get to the gift shop is to either pass right by it to go upstairs or go buy a hot dog :)

The first time I went to Las Vegas, I went with my dad. He gave me about $250 to play with and gamble. I was about 24 or 25.

I instantly hit the slot machines (nickels) and spent every last cent in under 8 hours. It was about 3am, I was bummed because I hadn't won anything and was on my way back to the hotel room to ask Dad for more money (hey, that's what he's there for, right? :) )

On the way, I put my hand in my pocket and felt a lone quarter!! Yes!! I ran to the nearest quarter slot machine, put the quarter in, pulled the handle and I won .... $250.25.

I took the money up to the room, woke up Dad and told him to hold onto it until I was OUT of Vegas... I realized I don't need to be anywhere near slot machines.... I'm broke enough, as it is! Now, when I go there, I just walk right past the machines, even though my brain is telling me "one pull of the lever won't kill anyone!" I know I won't get up until I'm bankrupt.

Clovis? Tulare? Visalia?

Anywho, there's another casino I really wanna check out but it's in Oregon. My aunt rose and uncle adolfo will be moving there in a month or so and we found out there's a casino about 10 minutes away from the town they're gonna live in.

I've been to Foxwoods Casino in CT twice. It was fun but it's not something I need to do again. All I played were the slots... I'd allow myself to lose up to $50 and sure enough, each time I lost that amount.

Now I have much better things to spend my money on and they all spell L-I-L-Y.
