Not as long as you get it taken care of fairly quickly. It's probably tape worms which regular wormer doesn't kill. Many of us have gotten puppies that had them, they come from fleas. The vet can give him a pill that will kill the worms and you just have to make sure they stay flea free to prevent another infestation.

my pup is on worming medicine but just last night when he pooped we saw a worm in it....we called the vet and made an appointment....but is this bad?!?!?!

it might just be the worms are coming out now that the medicine is kicking in and killing them.
No that is good........you want to see them. That is ok especially if they are being wormed. :wave:
