No please don't assume this won't happen to yours. Poco will be 3 yrs old this October and never had an issue until last month. He was acting weird laying by his food bowl and everytime we'd pick him up he'd go right back there. So I looked under all that butt fur was a big red knot  It was like 10:00 pm and I decided I'd take him in in the morning I checked him when we woke up and it had burst so he went straight to the vet. They kinda tried to scare me & say it's really bad and this and that but he was fine after they knocked him out and cleaned it all up. It di cost $200 but that's not an issue I'm just glad he's fine now.

I hope everything is fine and I'm glad you baby is getting fixed up :)

Oh no My vet didn't say anything about surgery she just said to watch them and get them emptied when neccesary. Poco's had even burst and had to be knocked out and they kept him for half the day and it cost $200 and they have a nice brand new office and not like a cheapie place. No there's something wrong with that call around and ask what they will charge if you they have an infected sack to have it fixed up. ((Hugs)) I'm so sorry they are being difficult.
